Debian and Ubuntu: install the .deb and it's in your menu. Anything else: the AppImage (mark it executable; needs libfuse2).

First run

  1. Settings → pick your AI provider, paste your own key → Save → Load Models → pick one. (Ollama needs no key.)
  2. Set Up Games → paste GitHub links, or Browse Games → tick games → Add To Links.
  3. Read Repos → Choose each game file from your own copy → Set Up Games.
  4. Open the Library and press Play - or copy the Transfer folder to your gaming PC.

Decomp Buddy contains no game data and never downloads any. Verification only ever checks the files you already own.

Requirements

macOS 12 or later, Windows 10/11 64-bit, or a mainstream Linux distro. An API key for one AI provider (a few cents per game on Claude Haiku), or Ollama running locally. Steam optional; DolphinTool or chdman optional for RVZ / CHD conversion.
